My would be Ludum Dare 44 entry
It was never submitted
Since I haven’t been doing any game development for quite a while now I thought that Ludum Dare 44 would bring the perfect reason to get back into making games again. After the theme “Your life is currency” was announced, I gave it some thought and came up with an idea that I liked.
The next day, after some extra hours at work, I made all the art assets on my iPad Pro using the app “Procreate” and animated the player in Spine2D and then imported everything into Construct 3.
After that I was very tired since I had been up early for work, I decided to call it a day and continue working on the game the next day.
The excitement was gone
When I was having breakfast I realized that I had lost all motivation to finish the game but said to myself “maybe it will come back later today” but it didn’t, not until yesterday when I was watching youtube clips of people testing LD44 entries.
Let finish it!
With newfound excitement I logged onto freesound.org and collected some nice sound effects. I booted up Logic Pro X and made a short looping music snippet, it only took me about 15 minutes to make it.
Finishing up the game with the music, sound fx and adding a title screen was also quick work. If Only I had done this sooner I could have submitted it to Ludum Dare, oh well maybe next time.
Try the game
The game is called “A lifetime of payments” and can be played in most browsers here: A Lifetime of payments.
Thanks for reading! See you next time.
